Calculator assumptions

The interest rates used in these calculations are the same as those shown above the chart. Fortnightly and weekly regular savings amounts are calculated using an average number of equal payments per month assuming each month has 30 days. All estimated savings balances are assumed to earn compounded interest each month and are before tax.

Great rate

Reliable

The fund is backed by assets which have a weighted average credit rating of AA, meaning they have very low default risk.

More Questions?

The extensive FAQs in our Support section are there to help answer any questions you might have about Wedge.

But here are a few things we thought might be top of mind.

How does Wedge pay such a good rate?

The Wedge Savings Fund invests in high quality cash and fixed interest assets, sourced from across global wholesale money markets. The higher interest rate these assets pay the fund allows it to deliver a consistently great rate to you.

How do I know Wedge is safe?

Wedge is a licensed manager of a Managed Investment Scheme, regulated by the Financial Markets Authority, and is a registered Financial Services Provider in New Zealand.

Wedge is also supervised by The New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Limited (NZGT), who oversees and monitors our operations. NZGT is one of New Zealand’s longest standing and most awarded supervisors.

NZGT has appointed Adminis NZ Limited (Adminis) as the independent custodian of the Wedge Savings Fund. As custodian, Adminis holds all fund assets for your benefit.

What fees does Wedge charge?

The Wedge Savings Fund offers savers an advertised 'Set Rate' of interest. This rate is inclusive of all ordinary fees and expenses. So you always know how fast your money is growing.

Members often tell us how much they love watching their balance grow each day.

If you’re interested, check out the FAQ 'How does Wedge make money?'.

What’s the credit rating of the Wedge Savings Fund?

The Wedge Savings Fund must maintain an average 'Investment Grade' credit rating at all times.

Since 23 May 2025, the fund’s weighted average credit rating has been AA.

How do I know Wedge is always working for me?

Wedge has revolutionised the New Zealand savings market by reordering the way managed funds work.

This is so that the Wedge Savings Fund works for both cautious investors and savers.

The fund pays you a 'Set Rate' of interest, before Wedge is eligible to earn anything. Wedge only gets to keep the return the fund generates above this Set Rate, if there is one. This is the opposite of how a traditional managed fund works.

In flipping the traditional managed fund model on its head, we’ve ensured there is absolutely no question about who is working for who (hint: we work for you!) and who our priority is (hint: it’s you!).
